Aromatherapy is the controlled therapeutic administration of highly concentrated oils extracted from plants. Combined with massage the oils activate the body’s physical and mental healing properties to bring them back to a state of balance. The massage techniques are not as intense as sports massage, but the effects of the oils are just as effective in treating the body and also the mind.
I usually use a blend of 3 oils as the synergy is more powerful than an individual oil on its own, and the oils will be diluted in a carrier oil of almond, grapeseed, coconut or jojoba to create an individual prescription.
How to prepare for your Aromatherapy massage:
The whole point of an aromatherapy massage is to massage essential oils into the skin, so depending upon the areas of the body we decide to work on you will need to strip off that part of the body. Also, you will be keeping the oils on the body after the massage, so please be prepared for any residual oils to come in contact with your clothing afterwards, and maybe have a t-shirt and joggers to put on rather than your best work suit.
