Deep tissue massage focuses on working the deeper layers of the muscle, connective tissue and fascia. It can help ease pain by breaking up adhesions, knots and scar tissue and is generally deep in pressure in comparison to Swedish massage. Lighter massage strokes are applied initially to warm up the muscles and facilitate deeper work, sinking into the muscles.
How to prepare for your deep tissue massage:
Dress to your level of comfort. If you wish to take everything off that’s fine, or if you wish to leave your shorts / leggings on and a strappy top that’s equally fine.
